ALLMI Experienced Worker Course Ending

Oct 26, 2023

As of March 2024 ALLMI are no longer offering the experienced worker 1 day courses

ALLMI (Association of Lorry Loaders, Manufacturers and Importers) are removing the ability to sit a 1 day experienced worker course.

The two options for training under the ALLMI scheme now are:

  • 1 day refresher
  • 2 day novice

These 1 day courses for both Lorry Loader and Slinger Signaller will now be allowed to run as a refresher course only. This means the candidate must have an in date or recently expired (within 6 months) accredited training card/certificate and has gained 15 hours of experience within the last 12 months.

Accrediting bodies that are currently accepted are:

  • AITT
  • CPCS
  • ITSSAR
  • Lantra
  • NPORS
  • RTITB

Other accrediting bodies may be accepted at ALLMI’s discretion and in-house courses will not be accepted.

This will be enforced across the board from 1st of March 2024 however many training providers may enforce this policy prior to this date.

Even with these changes ALLMI remains the go-to card for the lorry loader industry, being widely accepted and one of the few cards to come bearing the CSCS logo on a 5 year card without additional assessment/vocational qualifications.

What does this mean for me?

Simply, if you have not undertaken a formal accredited training course previously then you must undertake the 2 day novice training course. There-after you may refresh your qualification on a 1 day refresher in 5 years time.

We can deliver both Lorry Loader & Slinger/Signaller courses WITH Driver CPC hours - this does result in a longer working day however is well worthwhile in saving an extra day off work!

Note: This applies to both Lorry Loader & Slinger/Signaller courses
